Cisco Live London: OpenText Will be There, Will You?

As we prepare to take the floor at Cisco Live 2013 in London Jan. 28—Feb. 1, I sat down with OpenText Sales Account Manager Steve Harris to learn why the event is so important to OpenText, and to the technology community at large.

Q: Why is it important for OpenText to attend Cisco Live London?

A: Cisco Live offers us a fantastic opportunity to network with key business influencers in EMEA. This allows us to increase awareness of secure document transfer and network fax in the corporate environment today. We help businesses address many challenges around the transfer of sensitive data to ensure it is secure, has a full audit trail, and that data is sent and received in the specific way the documents are required. This opportunity is a great platform for getting our message out there.

Q: What products are you going to be showcasing in London?

A: We will be focusing on the OpenText RightFax suite of products. There will be interest in general around how IT services can be delivered as a service—from the cloud—so we are excited to be showcasing OpenText RightFax OnDemand, our hosted and fully managed network fax service. We will also be promoting OpenText RightFax Connect for those who are interested in a hybrid solution, which offers an onsite server for total control, and cloud-based telephony for ease of use, cost management and scalability. Additionally, we will be showcasing RightFax and Fax over IP  for integration into unified communications environments. We are seeing a high level of interest here, where companies are integrating their fax environment into their Voice over IP infrastructures for a multitude of benefits such as centralising fax, reducing costs, managing the distribution of faxes, and archiving.

Q: Why should people visit booth #E58?

A: We are very keen to understand more about how companies face the challenges around transmitting and managing sensitive data.  All companies are faced with compliance and regulatory factors, and on top of this we know companies are looking for ways to reduce costs, enable more flexible workflows, and maintain focus on business continuity—so we feel we have a very compelling proposition to address these business issues and we look forward to meeting many new faces and having some very interesting conversations.

Q: Tell me about OpenText’s relationship and integrations with Cisco:

A: OpenText has a longstanding relationship with Cisco. Many companies use the Cisco Fax Server, of which RightFax is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Cisco began selling RightFax some years ago, so the integration with Cisco is seamless. We see Cisco as a key strategic partner in helping to grow the success of the RightFax suite of products in today’s market, and we are very excited by the prospects this relationship holds.

We will be joined at Cisco Live London by our platinum partner in the United Kingdom, ProcessFlows.  Visit us Jan. 28—Feb. 1 at booth #E58!

  1. Good to see fax is not dead and that it possible to fully integrate with the Cisco collaboration portfolio such as CUCM, Unity Connection and Jabber… Do you want to receive a fax in your Jabber Client….use Rightfax…

  2. We are getting closer to real document presence. See us at Cisco Live and ask about the future of SecureDocs.
